Case Studies

A summary of some interesting work that has recently helped our clients.

  • A1ADT received a call that a client had a problem with tree roots in their drainage system. Tree roots were growing up through the shower trap, out under the floor tiles and up into the wall, then back out the shower wall tiles. It was found that the VCP drainage had failed at most points. Relining was recommended at about 50% less then the total cost of the excavation and drainage replacement. Relining was accepted and carried out and the owner was completely satisfied with the results.
  • A1ADT has carried out work in aged care facilities. We have been able to do the work without disrupting the day to day activities of the aged cared facilities. This in turn does not create undue stress to the residents and care workers.
  • A1ADT is definitely not noticeable. We were asked to reline the VCP drainage in a bathroom to a rental property. The repairs were quite involved, and therefore undertaken while the tenants were at work. After carrying out the work for the first two days, the real estate received a call from the tenant that they were disappointed that no work had been carried out. They were surprised to hear that two full days of work had been already carried out. So sometimes it is best not to be noticed in business.
  • A private hospital had a leaking drainage system under the operating theatre that had been discharging out under the building. After two years of fault finding, including continual efforts from a fault finding pipe service company, they still had not been able to locate the defect. After a call from the hospital and following a site visit, we were able to set plans in place to locate the defect. Hydro-Sectional testing was used to isolate a section of drainage within the hospital drainage system. We were able to successfully locate the defect for which the hospital was truly grateful and further suggested appropriate alternatives for repairs. The hospital was very satisfied with our results which saved them considerable costs, (since then we have returned to complete relining work that they were very happy with)
  • Macquarie University had a major problem with their main drain exiting the university; it had blocked with tree roots and was at a point of possible collapse. Having completed other relining work for them in the past, they had no hesitation in calling us. We responded quickly with a site visit and survey, recommended a course of action and had the drain relined the next day - problem solved.
