Case Studies

The William Bland Building - Macquarie St, Sydney.

The William Bland Building was experiencing ongoing issues with flooding in their offices due to
the corrosion of the existing cast iron stormwater stacks. With all the stack concealed in the walls of occupied offices, replacing the existing stacks was out of the option. We were initially called to inspect the job and carry out extensive CC.TV surveying to give an indication to the extent of the damage. Needless to say the overall condition was poor with vast amounts of internal corrosion - relining was needed.

A1ADT was able to successfully carry out over 250 metres of relining over a 3 week period with the minimal access available, all while businesses continued to operate!

Goethe Institut - Ocean St, Sydney.

A1ADT had recieved a call from the Goethe Institut in regards to an urgent sewer blockage, a plumber had already been on site to attempt to clear it but was unsuccessful. We were able to come to the job and find that their Boundary Trap had completely broken apart and their main line leading out and under a main road was completely full of tree roots and cracks. We were able to temporarily clear the blockage and provide a relining solution to fix their issues. The job needed to be carried out urgent due to the vast number of people that attend the Goethe Institut daily!

A1ADT was able to successfully carry out a total of 10 metres of relining to successfully rehabilitate the existing drainage. Without the relining technology available today, the Goethe Institut would have been up for major dig-up works and major costs! Needless to say, the Goethe Institut were very pleased with the outcome and now have peace of mind that this issue willl no rise again.

Macquarie University

Macquarie University had a major problem with their main drain exiting the university; it had blocked with tree roots and was at a point of possible collapse. Having completed other relining work for them in the past, they had no hesitation in calling us to inspect the damage.

We responded quickly with a site visit and survey, recommended a immediate course of action and had the defect area relined the following day. During the relining process, there were no restrictions in water usage and the university was able to continue as per normal.

City West Day Hospital, Westmead

City West Day Hospital had a leaking drainage system under the operating theatre that had been discharging out under the building. After two years of fault finding, including continual efforts from a fault finding pipe service company, they still had not been able to locate the defect.

After a call from the hospital and following a site visit, we were able to set plans in place to locate the defect. Hydro-Sectional testing was used to isolate a section of drainage within the hospital drainage system. We were able to successfully locate the defect for which the hospital was truly grateful and further suggested appropriate alternatives for repairs.

The hospital was very satisfied with our results which saved them considerable costs, and since then we have also returned to complete relining work to reticify the defect. Overall, they were one happy customer.

M5 East Motorway

We recently carried out major works on the M5 East Motorway to reline and rehabilitate areas of stormwater drainage that had faults and defects. Overall, this included an extensive amount of relining ranging from 300mm up to 750mm! The work was carried out over just a number of weeks and included night work to complete sections of the M5 Tunnel.

We are proud to annouce that during our visit to Hamilton Island AUS & NZ Conference we were, once again, given the honour of receiving 'Job of the Year' 2011. The William Bland Building, located in Macquarie St Sydney, was experiencing ongoing issues with flooding in their offices due to the corrosion of the existing cast iron stormwater stacks.

A1ADT was able to successfully carry out over 250 metres of relining over a 3 week period with minimal access available, all while businesses continued to operate! This is one success story that highlights A1ADT's ability to efficiently plan and operate all while maintaining minimal customer disruptions.

Following our recent recognition as one of the largest drain and pipe relining providers in Australia and New Zealand as per materials installed, we have recently alsobeen rewarded 'Job of the Year' for 2009 at our latest international conference.

The job wasunique because this was the first 225mm boundary trap that had been installed and we were able to carry out this work while the 30 storey apartment block was still in use. We created a flow-through bladder that bypassed the work being carried out.
